The conqueror clocks in at 155 points with heavy bolter and CC but you get an additional storm bolter with it. So you are looking at a barebones Russ with BC and heavy bolter at 137 points. I highly recommend going for the second option though, the first just hurts. I hope the above mentioned solutions work out for you though. Sorry this turned into a bit of a rant mate, I am just very disappointed with Chapter Approved 2019. I wish that CA2019 would have lowered the FW Leman Russ variants in point values, generally you are better off with a standard battle cannon Russ right now if you want to play matched games with points values competitively and that is a shame because the Conqueror is such a beautiful model. I only have 2nd edition Russ kits (around 10 actually) so for me it really doesn't matter anymore but for anyone else it sucks. I generally dislike it when ebay seller do not show the underside of the Conqueror turret when selling them for exactly your reasons stated. I saw this happen on some really expensive Annihilator turrets from my buddy where the turret hit the floor tiles and the lascannon just splintered into small puzzle pieces.sh** like that makes a grown guardsman cry. plastic turret base to the resin so the turret can fasten on the hull and doesn't go off so easily during play and may fall on the ground.
But they sell like hot cakes because lot of people (and collectors) still like the old design compared to the clunky bigger turrets from the new design.Įven then you may want to remove some of the resin to attach the 2nd ed.
Purchase an old second edition version of the Leman Russ kit, they are still available on ebay. You need a resin saw, some leather gloves, a face mask and a high powered vacuumer connected to an airbrush painting box.
